Recruitment Process
You can search and apply for Newcrest opportunities online. See how our application process works by clicking on the boxes for a more detailed explanation of each step.
- Step 1: Apply online
- Step 2: Applications reviewed
- Step 3: First round interviews
- Step 4: Second round interviews onsite
- Step 5: Occupational appraisals completed online (for selected roles only)
- Setp 6: Pre-Employment Medical Examination
- Step 7: Job offer
Step 1: Apply online
You'll need to apply online via our website. We'll ask you to complete our online application form and upload a cover letter and current CV.
Step 2: Applications reviewed
Our team will review your application and assess your suitability for the role you have applied for. This stage will take into consideration your skills, experience and relevant qualifications.
Step 3: First round interviews
If your application meets our selection criteria, a member of our Recruitment Team will be in touch to schedule your first interview. This will be either a face-to- face interview or via telephone or video conferencing.
Step 4: Second round interviews onsite
Your second round interview will typically be conducted onsite (or at one of our capital city offices, depending on the role) and we will arrange and pay for your travel and accommodation if required.
A site interview will involve a comprehensive site tour and a formal interview of about an hour with two Newcrest representatives.
This stage of the process is designed to ensure that you feel as comfortable with us as we do with you. We provide opportunities for you to meet with the team and see our working environment and facilities, to assist you in making an assessment of whether the Newcrest 'fit' is right for you.
Step 5: Occupational appraisals completed online (for selected roles only)
You may need to complete Occupational Appraisals. This may comprise a combination of abilities testing, work readiness questionnaire or a personality profile.
Step 6: Medical
If you are successful at the second interview, your Recruitment Advisor will schedule a pre-employment medical examination.
The medical examination aims to:
- Ensure you can safely undertake the job without putting yourself or others at risk of illness or injury
- Establish baseline health data to assist with subsequent health monitoring and also to identify any pre-existing medical conditions
By law you must tell us about all pre-existing medical conditions, injuries or illnesses that may be affected by the job you are applying for. If you do not disclose all relevant information you may you not be entitled to worker's compensation if the job aggravates a pre-existing injury or illness.
Step 7: Job offer
If your application has been successful we will call you and make a verbal offer of employment. You should receive a written employment contract in the post a few days after this.
Your Recruitment Advisor will be able to answer any questions you may have about your contract. On acceptance of our offer we will then organise your onboarding program which will involve relocation (if required), scheduling of inductions, and travel and accommodation. We offer extensive Relocation Support and will work with our third party provider to ensure you make a smooth transition to Newcrest and a new location.
